THE Multilingual and Professional Education Services Association (MEAPESA) has announced the inclusion of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in its literacy practices training of trainers program.
The initiative aims to promote awareness on key social topics and improve access to education within communities.
Speaking to Solomon Women in an interview, Margaret Saumore, Director for MEAPESA, highlighted the importance of this collaboration.
“We are starting to include the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force to come in and start giving some awareness to the participants,” she said.
The partnership seeks to address topics that are crucial for the development of students, families, and communities, ensuring that no one is left behind in the push for basic education.
“We are going to start to go out and also advocate for certain topics that we see as very important for the communities and that affect our students’ education, and more especially our children, communities, and families,” Saumore added.
RSIPF’s involvement will focus on providing relevant expertise on topics tailored to different audiences, solidifying their role as a key stakeholder in the initiative. “We are waiting to come in with some topics that are relevant to different audiences,” Saumore explained.
The program emphasizes the need for community participation and collective efforts to create a better future for the nation.
“To make it more effective, we need people from communities participating and working together so that no one is left behind in terms of basic education for our country, community, and people,” Saumore stressed.
MEAPESA is calling for greater public engagement and participation to ensure the success of this collaborative effort.
“We’re looking forward to more participation from our good people,” Saumore concluded.
This partnership underscores the importance of inclusive education initiatives in driving community development and social awareness across the Solomon Islands.
