Solomon Islands weightlifter Jenly Wini delivered an outstanding performance in Samoa, being crowned the Oceania 53kg champion while also securing a bronze medal in the Universal Cup. She finished fourth overall in the Universal Cup standings.

Earlier yesterday, teammate Guy Saeg was first in action, competing in the Group B division and recording lifts of 90kg in the snatch and 105kg in the clean and jerk. He narrowly missed his final attempt at 110kg but demonstrated strong form and determination throughout his session. Jenly Wini competed later in the day, producing a standout performance to secure her medals.

With their events completed, attention now turns to today’s competition, where Freeman is set to take the platform, while Shirmara Wini is currently in action. Both athletes are expected to build on the team’s momentum, with further updates to follow as the competition continues.

The competition is being broadcast live on TV1 Samoa for viewers wishing to follow the action.
