The West AreAre Rokotanikeni Association held its first management retreat for 2026 at the SWIM Base on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. The two-day retreat brought together leaders and staff to reflect on past work and plan for the year ahead.
Speaking to SOLOMON WOMEN, West AreAre Rokotanikeni Association (WARA) Executive Director Rebekah Maeniuta said the retreat is an important time for learning and planning.
“This retreat is a time where the association members come together to reflect back on the activities and achievements carried out in the past year,” she said. “We also look at whether we achieved our goals against our strategic plan and plan ahead for the next year.”

“The association is now working on our new strategic plan,” she said. “We are looking closely at activities carried out in the previous year against our current plan.”
The retreat was attended by all WARA management members. Sessions included reviewing, reflecting, and sharing ideas and experiences. Guest speakers also joined the program, including National Council of Women President Afu Billy, officer Jane Grace Mel, and WARA founder Dr Alice Pollard.
