ANDRYNOR Grace Sale, 16, had been born with cerebral palsy, a disorder that affects her ability to move and maintain balance and posture or has denied her the ability to walk.
According to her mother, Elleno Sale, Andrynor grew up with a passion that drive her interest in the sport of Table Tennis.
Mrs Elleno Sale said her daughter attended YWCA and from there she went to join Zion Academy.
“But as she grew up, we find it difficult to move her around to attend schools due to inadequate facilities in schools,’’ said her mother Elleno Sale.
Young Grace was introduced to the Table tennis sport by Adventist Development & Relief Agency (ADRA) after the ADRA team visited their home as part of their covid-19 program.
“From there the ADRA group introduced her to SINIS and that was how we get connected,’’ she said.
Andrynor Grace join the para table tennis athletes in April 2022.
Her Mother Elleno Sale was self-employed and she said she is now being supportive to her daughter full-time with her trainings.
“Our family were so happy with her because we tried our best in so many ways to make her happy and be part of the community too, and since she is now started to get exposed with the sport of table tennis, we are so happy with her,’’ said her mother.
“I see that having such a daughter is a blessing for me, that God has seen it fit to have her in my family – God blessed me with her,’’ said Grace’s mother affectionally.
Her Mother, Elleno often took her to attend table tennis programs at SINIS for table tennis competitions.
“I am so proud with my girl and she sees many girls her age joining the sport and she is also eager to be like them and join table tennis competitions as well,’’ said Mrs Elleno.
“Since the time she become part of this program at SINIS and has been involved in table tennis, she is very happy which in turn makes me happy as well,’’ she said.
“And then, that is how she join table tennis. I am so grateful indeed for the people who connected us, especially connecting her to the sport she is into now,’’ said the mother.
Even Andrynor herself was also happy because she is now part of a sport she dreamed to be part of for quite a long time.
“I am self-employed and now I am a full-time supporter of my daughter supporting her by transporting her to her trainings,’’ Elleno proudly said.
