THE anticipation for the 2025 Miss Pacific Islands Pageant is reaching a fever pitch as Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands, prepares to host the prestigious event from February 1 to 8.

Seven remarkable contestants from across the Pacific Islands region are set to compete for the coveted crown. This year’s theme, “Leadership in Diversity and Adversity,” is especially significant as it highlights the strength, resilience, and wisdom of Pacific Island women.

The contestants are not only beauty queens but also ambassadors for their cultures, talents, and leadership abilities. They are the winners of national beauty contests in their respective countries and will take the stage to represent their homelands, each with a story of personal growth and triumph.

Among the contestants is Elsie Polosovai, who was crowned Miss Solomon Islands in 2024. As the host nation’s representative, she has become the face of the pageant, bringing her pride and enthusiasm to the event. This marks the second time the Solomon Islands will host the pageant, following their first time in 2013. Despite hosting the event, the Solomon Islands has yet to claim the title, a fact that has only fueled the country’s determination to bring the crown home.

The pageant, established in 1987 by the Government of Samoa, has grown to become the largest regional event in the Pacific, celebrating the incredible talents and intelligence of Pacific Island women. Over the years, 36 women have worn the prestigious crown, each leaving their own mark on the history of the competition.

This year’s event will feature several key moments: Speech Day on February 6, Float Day and Market Day on February 7, and the grand finale, Crowning Night, on February 8. During these events, contestants will showcase their talents, intelligence, and cultural heritage, competing for the title currently held by Samoa’s Moemoana Schwenke.

The pageant competition celebrates unity, diversity, and beauty of the Pacific Islands, inspiring and empowering women across the region while competing for the crown.

The 2025 Miss Pacific Islands Pageant contestants are Miss American Samoa – Pauliana Felise-Vitale, Miss Kiribati – Kimberly Tokanang, Miss Nauru – Charlei Andrianna Deiye, Miss Papua New Guinea – May Torowi Hasola, Miss Samoa – Litara Ieremia-Allan, Miss Kingdom of Tonga – Racheal Gittenbeil and Miss Solomon Islands – Elsie Polosovai.
