Four outstanding Solomon Islands women leaders have returned home after successfully completing the Senior Public Sector Leadership Programme in New Zealand under the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship Programme — marking another milestone in advancing women’s leadership across the country’s public institutions.

The scholars are:
• Theclar Katuru – Chief Internal Auditor, Ministry of Police, National Security & Correctional Services
• Imelda Ta’ake – Financial Controller, High Court of Solomon Islands, National Judiciary
• Rhoda Meleu – Internal Audit Specialist, Ministry of Provincial Government & Institutional Strengthening
• Lynett Neleta – Manager Finance, National Parliament of Solomon Islands

Hosted by the New Zealand High Commission, the afternoon tea reception celebrated their achievements, provided space for reflection, and reaffirmed New Zealand’s commitment to supporting capable, confident, and inspiring women leaders in Solomon Islands’ public sector.
Their newly gained knowledge, leadership skills, and international exposure are expected to strengthen governance, accountability, and institutional performance across their respective ministries — contributing to more inclusive and effective public service delivery.
New Zealand continues to champion women’s leadership through the Manaaki Scholarship Programme, supporting Solomon Islands women to rise, lead, and shape national development.
