Women health workers at the National Referral Hospital are teaming up with Vois Blong Mere Solomon and the National Council of Women to boost women’s health through advocacy and awareness campaigns.
In a special meeting held yesterday at the National Referral Hospital (NRH) conference room, female staff from various departments came together to learn more about how the three organizations can work together to raise awareness and improve health outcomes for women.
NRH Medical Superintendent Dr. Janella Solomon said the meeting was a first of its kind and aimed to help women in health understand the roles of NCW and Vois Blong Mere Solomon (VBMS), and how to collaborate with them.

“This meeting is an opportunity for us to connect and use these platforms to promote women’s health and share health messages,” Dr. Janella said. “I encourage all women working in health—no matter what their job is—to become members of NCW and use the space provided by Vois Blong Mere to raise health issues.”
Guest speakers included National Council of Women (NCW) Vice President Kristina Sogavare and VBMS Director Nerrolle Vaekesa. Both leaders welcomed the collaboration and encouraged ongoing partnerships.

“Vois Blong Mere is excited to see this collaboration begin,” said Ms. Vaekesa. “This is a great way for women in health to speak up about issues not only in the workplace, but also in our communities.”

The meeting marked a hopeful beginning for future partnerships focused on empowering women in health to lead and advocate for change across the country.
