BEAUTY is a positive trait that adds value to people’s lives, and the environment and leads to a peaceful society.

It could take the form of a physical look, or shows in a person’s behavior. Thus it is an admirable quality that is catching.

It positively influences society by experiencing development and progress. A nation grows out of having beautiful people. This quality is naturally abundant in the Solomon Islands.

This week Solomon Women‘s paper catches up with a young female, Cindy Keketaovia, a 27-year-old hard-working friendly staff at Youth at Work who shared her views on beauty.

Cindy works as a Human Resource officer at Youth at Work.

Her hobbies include sightseeing, snorkeling, and meeting new people. Cindy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Management from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Solomon Women Newspaper (SWN): How do you define natural beauty?

Cindy Keketaovia (CK): Not having to put on a lot of makeup, have a good personality and down-to-earth sense of humor. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a certain type of person who looks like a supermodel and ticks certain criteria on a panel that says you look beautiful.

SWN: When do you feel most beautiful?

CK: I feel most beautiful when I am fresh out of the shower.

SWN: How do you balance a glamorous and healthy lifestyle?

CK: Eat a balanced diet and occasional exercise. Sometimes I have cheat diets.

SWN: Who is your beauty icon?

CK: I don’t have one as almost everyone on the islands has beautiful skins, so I’d say I admire and am grateful I am from the islands.

SWN: Do you have a favorite natural skincare ingredient, product, or ritual that you can share?

CK: I don’t have a favorite product but I use Nivea on my body except for my face as it’s too oily for the facial area. I’d recommend using natural products with Vitamin E and our natural coconut oil.

SWN: What thoughts would you like to share with women and girls to value their beauty?

CK: I would recommend all women to wear hats to cover their skin because the sun can be quite damaging under strong exposure. Being dark doesn’t mean we can’t wear sunscreen. Please cover it up if you are working in the sun to protect your skin and maintain beautiful and smooth skin.
