AS a concern mother you have an obligation with no choice but you have to take up responsibility to meet the need and the survival of the family said Rebecca.
Challenges is the possibility we normally encounter in everyday life and every new dawn brings new challenge as it is the pattern of life. Yet it is our commitment to prepare us tackle and solve such situation we can’t depend on others for support maybe sometimes but not full time each one have its own problem to resolve.
Rebecca is a struggling mother and a concern maid she spent most of her time waving basket, billums and mats and sold them for income and that is the only way she thought she earn money to meet the daily needs of her family.
However she said engaging in such medium is not really endurable because it depend much on customers. Sometimes people buy the products and sometimes it not working well either but she said she enjoyed it and at the end of the day she satisfied with what she earned.
Raising six children and having putting them together in schools is not an easy thing, it need enough money to pay for the school fees, stationaries and other relative staffs plus food and other house hold necessities.
Though she meet up with such difficulties she said she never give up because she believes in the future of her children and she have to invest more on them. Her struggling effort is to set a brighter future for her children.
Every day she have to leave her home and walk her way to Art Gallery to sell her product and later went back to her home late in the evening and that is the routine she normally did.
She said sometimes when she arrived late at home her husband always get disagree at her and she have to explain everything to cold down the tense and acquisitions.
Rebecca said she wish her husband understand her and lend her support because it quite hard and difficult for mother to do everything while father just relax and relay on the mother earnings. Moreover it reach some point where she think she had to give up because she never had any helping hand. But the wellbeing of her children upbringing is what she really cared about though it tough and hard she have to sacrifice at least to set a better future for her children through their education journeys.
When asked why she and her other colleagues have the access to sold their products at Art Gallery, she said they have been registered under the body which mandate their movement and motion in the area and only those that registered under that body have right to sold their product.
However she said since they paid fee for that place therefore the responsible authority who look after the area should renovate the premises into a conducive environment so that the market vendors could enjoy with their sales.
She urged the National Government and other responsible stake holders to at least set a priority to gaze into the situations of the many struggling mothers in the country because mothers are the backbone and the foundation of the nation.
She said you can see if any activity coming up mothers are the ones who dominate the programme and did the lot of participation so why not priorities mothers and set a proper avenue for them so they can showcase and sold their product freely. Because there are many mothers out there with skills and talent but because luck of opportunity and proper avenue provided. Therefore they have no chance to come out and become struggle for the rest of their live time.
Meanwhile, she said even though it hard and challenging for mothers with the struggles and the hardship that they usually faced in their daily life moreover, their responsibility and obligation will still upheld
