Nine women and girls are gaining new confidence after taking part in a one-day Basic Digital Skills Workshop organised by Mere Care Company Limited.
The training was led by the company’s co-founder, Dr Donna Marie Wate, who said digital skills are becoming important for women who want to grow their businesses.

Dr Wate said the workshop was designed to help participants understand and use basic digital tools for marketing, communication and business growth.
“The main purpose is to improve their basic digital skills and help them effectively promote and market their businesses using digital platforms,” she said.
The participants came from different industries and were at different stages of developing their businesses.

Dr Wate said each participant had different business goals, aims and visions, but the new skills could help them become more confident when using technology.
She encouraged the women and girls to practise what they had learned and continue learning as technology changes.

“I encourage the participants to apply the skills gained from the workshop in their respective businesses and continue learning as technology and digital platforms evolve,” she said.
The workshop also gave participants a chance to share their experiences and learn from one another.
For the participants, the training offered practical knowledge that can help them reach more customers, promote their products and services, and move their businesses forward.
