Solomon Islands national under-16 women’s football team prepares to compete in the OFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2025, with high hopes and excitement.

“We are going to compete and qualify for the under-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco in Africa next year,” said Assistant Coach Priscilla Tariga.

Solomon Islands Under-16 Women’s Football Team, Assistant coach Priscilla Tariga shared the team’s big dreams.

The girls have been training hard and are determined to make history. “We want to be the first Solomon Islands U-16 women’s team to qualify for a World Cup,” she added.

The team includes 23 players and 6 officials. But it’s more than just winning. Coach Tariga said she also hopes the tournament will inspire other girls to play football.

“We want them to enjoy football, take the challenge, and encourage more girls in our country to join,” she said with pride.
