The Political Parties Commission (PPC) and the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) have announced the appointment of Ms. Lois Harohau as the new Assistant Registrar.

Ms. Harohau hails from Malaita Province and grew up in Auki. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the South Pacific’s Emalus Campus in Vanuatu.

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Harohau served with the Political Parties Commission and ORPP as a Research Officer under the Strengthening the Electoral Cycle in the Solomon Islands Project (SECSIP) through the United Nations Volunteer (UNV) Programme.

During her time with the Commission, she was recognised for her commitment and professionalism, contributing not only to research activities but also providing legal opinions and supporting a range of important functions within the Commission.

The Commission and the Registrar acknowledged and expressed appreciation for Ms. Harohau’s dedication, hard work, and valuable contributions during her service as a UN Volunteer.

According to the Commission, her appointment reflects the confidence and trust placed in her capabilities and commitment to public service.

The PPC and ORPP said they look forward to continuing to work closely with Ms. Harohau in her new role as Assistant Registrar as the Commission continues efforts to strengthen political governance and democratic processes in Solomon Islands.

The Commission also congratulated Ms. Harohau on her appointment and officially welcomed her to the team.
