LOCAL fashion entrepreneur Sonya Rechenberg, owner of Sons and Daughters, recently presented a thoughtful selection of gifts to Miss Solomon Islands, Elsie Polosovai, as part of her support for the upcoming 2025 Miss Pacific Pageant in Honiara.
The presentation took place at her shop in Henderson, east Honiara, where Sonya shared her excitement about contributing to Miss Solomon Islands’ journey.
Sonya handed over gifts including sarongs, handicrafts, body products, and lavalavas—traditional attire worn by women in the Solomon Islands. These items are meant to add to Elsie’s wardrobe as she prepares for the prestigious Miss Pacific Pageant, which will be held in Honiara from February 1-8, 2025.
In an interview with SOLOMON WOMEN, Sonya explained that her gesture reflects her commitment to supporting local talents and promoting positive initiatives. She expressed pride in helping Elsie and was happy to see the young woman excited and grateful for the gifts.
Sonya highlighted the importance of the Miss Pacific Pageant, not just as a beauty contest but as an opportunity to showcase cultural heritage, intelligence, and leadership qualities. She sees this support as an investment in a young woman who can inspire others to dream big and pursue their goals.
Elsie Polosovai, from Choiseul Province, has been preparing for the competition, which celebrates the diverse cultures of the Pacific region. Sonya and Sons & Daughters wish her the best as she continues her journey toward the pageant.
