Tanisha Mari, a 16-year-old student from King George Sixth Secondary School, is the youngest designer taking part in the London Honiara Runway Fashion Show 2025.

Tanisha, who is in Form Four, is one of three students selected by their Home Economics teacher, Madam Inca Kuper, to represent the school in the show.

The group will compete in the Recycling Fashion Category, creating outfits from reused materials.

“This is my first time joining a fashion show, and I’m very excited,” Tanisha told SOLOMON WOMEN.

“Our school got the invitation from the British High Commission’s organizing committee, and Madam selected us to take part.”

Tanisha shared that they’ve been working hard, preparing six models for the show. “We’ve been rehearsing and preparing our designs.

We believe we’ll do a good job,” she said proudly. She also thanked her classmates, teachers, and families for their support. “I want to thank everyone helping us with our pieces and giving us confidence.

Special thanks to our parents and Madam Inca Kuper for believing in us.” Tanisha and her fellow student designers are looking forward to showing their creativity and hard work on the runway this Wednesday.
