The Community of the Sisters of the Church at Tete Ni Kolivuti (TNK) in North Guadalcanal gathered to celebrate the Epiphany Holy Communion service. The service was held online via Zoom, enabling the local Community to join Sisters from around the world in a shared act of worship.

This year’s Epiphany service was especially significant as it included the Blessing of the Provincial Sisters, marking an important and meaningful moment for the Community. Although separated by distance, the Sisters worshipped together at the same time, united as one Community in Christ.

The service marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Community, particularly for the Solomon Islands Province. Following decisions made at the General Chapter in 2025, the Community has agreed to adopt a shared leadership model, in which leadership responsibilities will be carried collectively by the Provincial Sisters. This new leadership arrangement will take effect from Epiphany 2026 and will continue until the next General Chapter in 2029.

Scripture guiding this transition was drawn from Isaiah 43:19:

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth; do you not perceive it?”

One of the most moving moments of the service was when the outgoing leader formally laid down her leadership responsibilities. In an act of humility and faith, she entrusted the new Provincial leadership into God’s hands. The entire Community then joined in prayer, renewing their shared commitment to walk together in faith, hope, unity, and service.

Reflections during the Epiphany service also reminded the Sisters and the wider Church of the call to care deeply for others, especially those who are suffering. Special attention was given to people forced to leave their homes in search of safety, with the reminder that Jesus himself once lived as a refugee. The message was clear: to open hearts with compassion, love, and mercy.

The Epiphany celebration at TNK stood as a strong sign of renewal and hope. As the Community of the Sisters of the Church moves forward, they do so trusting in God’s guidance, embracing new ways of leadership and service, while remaining faithful to prayer, unity, and the light of Christ shared with the world.

Sisters travelled from various household stations in and around Honiara, including Patterson House at Point Cruz, the Christian Care Centre, and other CSC households. Their gathering reflected the strong bonds within the Community and their shared commitment to prayer, service, and community life.
