VISITING OFC Women’s Consultant Margaret Aka has emphasized a winning football coaching culture that is fundamental in women’s football development.
She pointed out that despite the norms coaches are encouraged to enforce a strong relationship, accountability practices, and responsibility as key features of their coaches’ leadership.
These were shared during a coach refresher workshop attended by aspiring coaches and players who are keen to set a team standard moving forward in developing women’s football.
Participants also had to reflect on the local context to identify challenges moving forward.
Aka is the first woman in the region to be accredited OFC B License, and her visit and sharing of significant insights have been an inspiration to most of the attendees.
