The 2025 London-Honiara Fashion Show concluded with eight outstanding designers, showcasing the richness of Solomon Islands’ fashion scene – celebrating identity, innovation, and inspiration, rather than just a competition and bringing together 14 local designers.

A celebration of creativity, culture, and craftsmanship took place at the London-Honiara Fashion Show, where eight outstanding designers were recognized for their exceptional work. The event, hosted at the British High Commission Residence in Honiara, brought together 14 local designers to compete across five unique categories, capturing the richness of Solomon Islands’ fashion scene.

The designers were recognized in five categories: Informal, Formal, Contemporary Traditional Attire, Recycle/Upcycle, and Lava Lava (Sarong) Fashion.

First-time winner of two categories, Rebecca Bird of Elopetu Designs, impressed both the judges and the crowd, taking home First Prize in the Contemporary Traditional and Recycle/Upcycle categories.

British High Commission in Solomon Islands, Deputy High Commissioner, Ms. Emma Davis, was beaming with pride during the closing ceremony.

“Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all designers for your incredible work and participation. We had a fantastic night — you were all amazing,” she said.

Ms. Davis also gave special praise to the models who brought the designs to life on the runway.

“Models, you did an amazing job. You presented yourselves beautifully — so confident and poised. The audience loved you!”

She also acknowledged the critical support behind the scenes that made the event possible.

“I want to say thank you to the National Art Gallery, especially Julie and Alison for their contributions, and to the British High Commission Organising Committee, especially Anthea, for making the London-Honiara Fashion Show a truly successful event,” she added.
