Women members of the Honiara Council of Women travelled to Vanuatu over the weekend for trading program in partnership with Honiara City Council and Honiara Council of Women under market vendors of arts and crafts in Honiara.

Speaking to SOLOMON WOMEN in an interview, Mrs. Piko who will be travelling with the team as team leader said the trip is an initiative that Honiara Council of Women (HCC) and Honiara Council of Women (HCW) aims to empower women with marketing abroad to showcase and display their products.

HCW team travelled to Vanuatu.

She said the women are looking forward to strengthen their sister relationship bond between market vendors in Vanuatu.

“The women are very happy to be going out to engage in trading in another Pacific country also to strengthen their sister relationship with sisters in Vanuatu,”

Activities that will be carried out during the two weeks trading program involves life skills, cultural performances and site visits to Vanuatu National Parliament, Disability Centers and a curtsy call visit to the Lord Mayor.

Mrs. Piko acknowledges those who have put hands to support the team on their travelling.

The team previously had their HCW team travelling to Vanuatu prayer program at the HCW center held by Fr. John Galvin as they prepare to leave for the program abroad.
