As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, Solomon Power is proud to recognize the dedication, achievements, and leadership of one of its long-serving staff members, Rose Tate. Her journey is a powerful example of commitment, perseverance, and professional growth within the organization.
Rose Tate, currently the Manager Billing and Revenue at Solomon Power, began her journey with the company in August 2004 when she joined the Auki office as a Revenue Clerk. From the beginning, she demonstrated a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn—qualities that would shape her long and successful career.
In 2008, Rose transferred to the Honiara office, where her career continued to progress through a variety of important roles. She served as Enquiry Staff, then moved on to become Debtors Reconciliation Officer, Meter Reading Supervisor, Cash Power Administrator, Revenue Analyst, and later Debts Recovery Supervisor. Each position strengthened her experience and understanding of Solomon Power’s operations, particularly in billing, revenue management, and customer service.
Her dedication and consistent performance were formally recognized in 2018 when she was appointed Manager Billing and Revenue. In this role, she continues to play a key part in strengthening revenue systems, supporting staff, and ensuring effective service delivery to customers across the country.
This year, as part of the company’s International Women’s Day celebrations, Solomon Power proudly acknowledges Rose for her 22 years of dedicated service and her valuable contributions to the organization. Her professional journey reflects the important role women play in driving progress and leadership within the energy sector.
Alongside her professional life, Rose has also built a strong family foundation. She married in 2004 and is a proud mother of four beautiful children, balancing her responsibilities at work with her commitment to her family.
Over her years of service at Solomon Power, Rose has witnessed many changes within the organization. She notes significant improvements in building designs and a steady increase in staff numbers, reflecting the company’s growth and development over the years. These changes highlight how far Solomon Power has come and how employees like Rose have been an integral part of that journey.
Rose’s advice to fellow staff is grounded in experience and practical wisdom. She encourages everyone to be patient and honest in their work, to complete tasks fully rather than leaving work unfinished, and to always follow company policies. Beyond the workplace, she also advises staff to plan for their families while they are still working—such as building a house—so that when retirement comes, they already have a secure home to retire into.
As Solomon Power celebrates International Women’s Day, the company sincerely thanks Rose Tate for her many years of dedicated service. Her story is an inspiration to current and future staff, demonstrating how commitment, integrity, and hard work can create lasting impact both within the workplace and in the community.
