Honiara, Solomon Islands – The Solomon Islands Women in Business Association (SIWIBA) announced its new Trustees at an Extraordinary General Meeting held at the SIWIBA Conference Room, NPF Plaza, Honiara, following members’ endorsement of the reviewed SIWIBA Constitution.
The revised constitution was presented to the Board on the 29th of October 2026 and was accepted. To validate the constitution the Board appointed new Trustees to comply with the Constitution with two as external Trustees and Three as Internal. This was done to fill vacant seats left by former Trustees the late Dr Alice Pollard and Mrs. Tele Bartlett, whom the current Trustees, Board, Staff and Members sincerely appreciated for the dedication and support towards the growth of SIWIBA and supported towards Economic Empowerment of Women and Girls in Solomon Islands.
The announcement was made before about thirty members present and forms part of the Association’s renewed governance under the reviewed Constitution.
The new Trustees are:
- Julie Gegeu Haro – Board President
- Ireen Vaukei – Legal Advisor/Entrepreneur
They join the continuing Trustees:
- Glyn Joshua – Corporate Leadership Trainer/Entrepreneur
- Pamela Zoleveke – Board Member
- Ethel Saelea – Board Member
Trustees hold the Association’s assets and property on behalf of its members and help safeguard its long-term interests. The new appointments bring together experienced leadership and legal expertise, and strengthen SIWIBA’s governance, accountability and stewardship at an important stage in its growth.
“We are grateful to our continuing Trustees for their service and proud to welcome our new Trustees. Together they will help protect and grow SIWIBA for the benefit of all our members.” – Julie Gegeu Haro, Board President]
