WOMEN representative from Ward 28, in West Kwaio, Margaret Wate have acknowledged their provincial Member, Hon. Claudio Teifi for providing small income-generating projects to rural women there.
Margaret Wate who is the headteacher of Buma primary school said such projects will boost their determination to engage more in farming.
She added that ward 28 women look forward to receiving seedling, piggery, and poultry projects in the near future.
“These types of projects are more suitable and easy for us to manage to eventually generate income to sustain our families and help improve our livelihood in our respective villages.
She said especially during the COVID19 pandemic period, rural women are facing so many challenges with regards to earning income to help pay for school fees and basic necessities.
Meanwhile, the MPA for ward 28 said he is also working hard to strengthen projects access for rural farmers throughout their ward this year.
